D-DAY SET FOR VERSION 10 OF THE INTERNET EXPLORER GOOGLE CHROME DOWN-LOADER
Bill Gates (He's The Devil) much loved ahemmm browser is set to be sent to hell in Jan 2020

MS has announced that version 10 of its much maligned web browser is to end its life and self destruct in a ball of fire in 2020.

OK that probably won't happen but it will not stop many from wishing it would.

The browser was slated for termination but was given a stay of execution to allow admins to upgrade their systems, regardless, the browsers days are numbered and they will now have until Jan 12 2020 to get their houses in order as after that date support will end.

Of course we could all download and use the new Edge brow... never mind.

OR just use it as intended, to download Chrome or Fire Fox?

Not quite sure who uses IE11 or Edge in the first place, even MS is ditching their own code to base the new version on Chromium.

Problem is there are not enough Corporate controls for other browsers.  I can setup to the nth degree any settings for IE that I want, but these options are not available for others.  Chrome has some support but thats about it.

chromium is open source, your free to introduce any options you need in place.

perhaps you mean others don't have the options that MS allows you to use.

IE is awful

No, what I mean is that using Active Directory I can fully control every aspect of IE, but limited options for other browsers

Yes, but it also mentions its IE10 thats being killed off and that its the Sysadmins that need to get a move on by 2020.  As we use IE11 (Win 7 and 10) killing off IE10 will not affect many large businesses, or even small ones come to think of it.

There are some who are apparently still forced to use IE10 as for whatever reason their companies internal intranets were never updated to run on anything else. Apparently there were rendering problems and quirks with other browsers. No idea at all why they would not update them but hey ho it is what it is..

At the very most it would only be a handful still using it though. Most transitioned years ago.

We deal with a lot of Banks/Financial Institutions and they are very far behind on tech within the backoffice

Buz still uses a Vic20 ffs

My doctors used a dos based appointment system up until the start of last year. When they changed over it all went to hell. The receptionist almost had a break down lol.
