New Council tax bill arrived

So the new council tax bill arrives and there's a leaflet in it were it mentions:-

Wavelength

A charity that provides free SIM cards with free data via Vodafone for all the refugees mainly Ukrainian but it doesn't disregard other nationalities.

After reading up on this it then says the charity is to provide SIM cards and data to some of the 200,000 Ukraine refugees in the UK.

So we've let in 200,000 Ukrainian refugees when the vast majority of Ukraine are not affected by the war with Russia

Google

Callum Bowl and watch some of his older videos (some are funny) when he visits Ukraine and goes on the lash with locals only a few miles away from the from the front line.

Life goes on as normal in the majority of the Ukraine and we've 200k ??

It seems that the Human Rights PC brigade somehow hold all the Aces. They think public money has an unlimited supply.

In Wales we got nearly 1 in 10 on PIP lol

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/pip-payment-changes-what-you-31229702

I know a few on PIP. Not sure what the hell is supposed to be wrong with them as they seem to be fit enough for everything else except working lol

There was a time when you felt a little pride in being British. Now it's embarrassing.

Why don't you apply for a card, along with all the other benefits these people get. They haven't paid 1p into the system and somehow they are allowed to bleed it dry. When I emigrated to Australia, if you can't stand on your own two feet for 2 years, then they tell you to go back where you came from. No access to benefits! Charity begins at home, perhaps mad Kier needs reminding

There's probably a lot of Ukranians that need help but maybe more that don't. Don't forget Hong Kong.

All of these boats, what's the end goal for governments?.

Not just the UK, Europe. What do they gain by providing benefits, housing etc to those that could easily be kicked back from where they came

Look at were the war is in Ukraine against the size of it. Ukraine is 2.5 the size of the UK. Why tf haven't their own taken those in who need to get away from town cities under siege the other side of Ukraine ???.

If you ask me it's an excuse for a fair chunk of Ukrainians to legally escape. If we've took 200k how many have all the other countries took in ? There'll be nobody left in the country. And when it's over I take it their going back ??.

Like f##k I bet

Only the war isn't just on the east side of Ukraine that boarders Russia, it's also from the north through Belarus, the south through the Black Sea and with reports of Russian missiles entering Polish air space, I guess it's also on the west side.  I have more respect for anyone from Ukraine that comes over and gets a legal job, compared to the people who stay under the radar and provide zero benefit to the country.

You can easily see the refuge status per country below, (Poland have took in nearly a million and there was about 43 million people in Ukraine before the war as a reference point):

This mass immigration would work if they all worked earned good money and did not claim benefits.

But we all see the sad state of the country even in the countryside now groups of immigrants just hanging about and have nothing to offer this country. Massive hotels full of freeloaders maybe 1% are genuine at best.

Pisses me off they get 24/7 heating and unlimited food when we had the OAP fuel allowance cut.

None are doctors and nurses etc just men who will claim they are gay or mentally ill to stay here.

The country allows crimminals to stay- rapists, murderers, perverts the lot for daft reasons and some how  the system says they still have human rights which their victims they were happy to deny.

You  could stop the boats in a day soon as they land straight back they go.

The gangs involved are the french they are providing the boats etc with the money we give them to stop it.

They do not want them why would they stop them?

Housing 1.5m built which will not happen, would not house the current immigration over the next 5years anyway.

Also the lazy Brits here work if you can or get nothing simple, no social housing for the unemployed just working households that have paid into the system for at least for 5 years.

I have no idea what the EU is thinking allowing this mass migration but it's not working and were bringing other countries problems/hatred to our doorstep.

Even the at the England game the commentator refrained from saying there's a large contingent of Albanian fans travelled over he said a large group of Albanians have attended tonight.

If he had of said travelled he would have had to say from across London

Just to clarify, the council tax bill arrived but none of the council tax goes to the Wavelength charity it's just there was also a leaflet in the envelope?

Not clear from the initial post.

Also not clear why anyone in the entire world would choose to move to Wigan even if they were from an area that had recently been the recipient of a dirty nuclear strike, tsunami, famine, genocidal incidents and so on?

My point is, charity should start at home, why not give all the elderly who are house bound a free SIM rather than a potential 200k Ukrainians, that's 200k who could have simply moved to the other side of Ukraine were they happily go about their daily lives unaffected by the war.

We are very good as a country handing out to those overseas while we trim back at home to pay for it.

As for Wigan ? yep it's a shithole but be no different from were you live

Councils are useless waste so much money on things that have no right to be involved in.

My council tax has gone up by 17.5% over 2yrs who get's that sort of pay rise.

The police seem to get a pay rise every year and do less and less. Only thing you hear from them is here's the crime number.

Some places are charging for green bin emptying £59 a year permit. Round here they collect every 3 weeks which is about £3:40 per empty.

This is were were heading, we'll be asked to cough up extra simply because councils are skint. Black blue brown will me next probably ask for £300 extra a year empty your bins.

Fly tipping will literally go off the scale and fires

On a more serious note, is the traffic always terrible around there? I was there on Saturday arvo and all the routes into the centre were absolutely rammed and then I was back over early evening and was the same. Wondered if Greggs were doing a free giveaway or summat.

Nothing beats a good old fashioned thigh slapping pie joke,

Traffic?, It all stems from Wigan Lane heading from the town up to Standish. Their replacing gas pipes on Wigan Lane and for some reason they keep putting up taking down temp lights.

My wife's had a partial knee replacement Tuesday up at Wrightington hospital and I felt the full force of it especially Weds.

I picked her up at 3:10 and got through the door at 5:15 for what is on a good day a 10 minute drive.

What fucks me off is, theres a huge bus lane one side cycling lane on the other. For most of the day it's ok, then, around 3'ish most days they wack up temp lights then fuck off home !!.

The traffic then backs up from Boars Head pub to Albert's Bar restaurant (Google maps it fair distance) and the other way Boars head pub to Swindley labour club.

The knock on affect in the town centre turns it into a fookin mare. And not that, if they open up more on the opposite side of town that's it gridlock.

Then you see this and think fook me why ?

Hand on heart the Greggs thing was not related to pies, never bothered with that whole pie eater thing.

Any road back to ranting, was Hindley that was my main issue and at one point I thought I’d be there so long I might end up using the car as my last resting place.

Maybe there’s summat in the hugely popular (conspiracy?) theory of councils having to spend and spend in March so that’s why we’re inundated nationwide with temporary lights.

Always busy in Hindley and Robin Park. Even when there's no games on. I'm sure some runt has messed with the traffic light patterns. Kin shite.
